Learning to fly

Sophie squealed, as she often did the second she hopped on the sizable, stunning horse. He had only jumped a few times in his life and often refused, but Sherry had confidence that the 11 year old could handle him. Rather than doing a line or a course, SHerry decided they would focus on one single, small jump and try to get him used to the feeling. Sophie, of course was ecstatic about doing anything with the palomino stallion, and a single jump was more then enough to place a wide smile on her face. After the first few jumps, CHar was in a good rhythm and seemed very balanced. Sophie was very young and small for her age, but she was a fantastic and fearless rider with a one in a million personality. She lived a and breather her idol, Sherry. Which is a bit ironic because Sherry is the most cranky, snappy and selfish person you would ever meet, while Sophie was positive, kind and cared about everybody. But somehow, it worked for them and Sherry and brought Sophie a long way with her riding. As they approached the jump for the 5th time, Sophie picked Char up to a faster canter and he flew over it, almost gracefully. He wasn't quite sure what to do with the long legs her had, but he was learning. Sophie beamed as soon as they landed. Sherry just looked up at her with an "I really don't care about anything your doing or saying" type of face and said "eh, he's got a long way to go." Sophie just smiled even bigger.
